About Ankita

Ankita has been fortunate to gain quality education in Architecture. Additionally, she hasgained valuable and diverse knowledge from 11+ experience years in India through jobs under reputed architects and her personal practice, and 3+ years experience in Australia.

Ankita completed her Bachelor of Architecture from the reputed Sir J.J. College of Architecture, Mumbai in 2002. After gaining 7 years of rich and diverse experience, her desire to participate in designing spaces that could be more meaningful to the city led her to London where she pursued the MA Housing and Urbanism program at the world renowned Architectural Association School of Architecture.

 

Since 2016, Ankita has been involved in very interesting, diverse and highly complex architectural projects in Australia, such as: design development of 90 floor mixed-use super high-rise tower- the Spirit at DBI, a 48 Hectare PPP Prison for Mode Designs with spread out low rise 60+ buildings and Links Hotel (5 star) in Hope Island at DBI. Since start of 2018, shehas worked at BDA Architecture in Gold Coast. Here, where she has been instrumental in DD, Tender and Contract Documentation of 41 Floor prestige housing projects, the Infinity Tower and thepremium 44-Floor Tower at Hedges Avenue. She has played key role in design & documentation of large scale projects ranging from 150 Million AUD to 1 Billion AUD. She has independently lead projects of value AUD 30 Million to 150 Million.

 

In the end of 2013, Ankita established her Architectural Practice under the name of AAS Design Solutions Private Limited at New Delhi. Here, she developed a strong and eclectic profile of projects ranging from large multi-residential projects to schools, shopping centers and recreational buildings. Due to family reasons, she moved to Australia, thereby ceasing active operations of AAS Designs.

 

Prior to her firm, Ankitahas worked on multi-residential housing projects and luxury villa schemes at the renowned architectural practice, P.G. Patki Architects (Mumbai), and led design& development of a chain of 200+ Kto12schools across India through STL Architects.

 

Ankita’s education and diverse experience have made her adept at addressing a project in totality, from start to finish and working on its various aspects and stages, such as project bid, design, presentations, detailing, documentation and coordination. This has resulted in strong capabilities to address multiple building typologies - large scale urban developments, complex multi-residential buildings to intricate interior refurbishments.Ankita strongly believes that architecture is not just design of a building within boundaries, but rather, every building has a larger role to play in the city life, and hence, should respect its context and be adaptable to the changing needs of its users

INTERESTS

Ankita loves to spend her free time with nature, which gives her immense peace and inspiration. Also, she likes to make oil paintings, and is very inclined to learn sculpture making in near future.
