New Innovation Environment in Jubei, Hsin Chu, Taiwan
PROJECT BRIEF
The Government of Taiwan already has a master plan prepared for the Jubei Area near HsinChu City which is fast developing as a polycentric node due to construction of High Speed Train Terminal connecting entire west coast of the nation. The Master Plan aims to establish this area as a Science Park hub, complete with University, Bio Medical Park, Industrial Park and High end housing.
However, the Existing Master Plan Proposal has several drawbacks:
- it creates fragmented development
- it is rigid in nature
- it lacks structure
- it is not ideal for innovation environment
Our modified proposal for this region is based on traditional block development in neighboring cities of Taipei and Jubei. We focus on three elements that can combine together to provide a more effective urban innovation:
- Mobility network,
- Pattern and
- Scale
